I am reminded again that people see the world differently. A family member went to Jerusalem this holiday. I saw it as “braving the maddening crowds.” I think her attitude could be fairly categorized as “rejuvenation coming from bathing in the sea of humanity.”
Neither is right or wrong. We are just different. And some of these differences give us a taste of life through another's eyes. It is like a tour guide taking you through places you have seen before but never really appreciated.
And this is how we grow. We take on a fellow traveller, or we become one, and new worlds open as we bring new perspectives to each others eyes, and sometimes our paths diverge, and we have grown from the experience, or learned, which is always a form of growth anyway.
It is not that either is or is not real or right, or left or wrong. It is just what is.
And it is up to us to notice, and to build boldly in the field that opens, if that's what we want, or to sit back and watch “things” unfold, or to ignore it all and fall into whatever place gives us solace or comfort or inspiration.
